Sponsoring Elle Hacks 2021

When we were first introduced to the ElleHacks event by one of our co-op students during

their interview, we already took interest as the experience it provided aligned with our values. ElleHacks is the largest hackathon created for women and non-binary individuals of all experience levels. With the world adapting to a new normal, we joined the event virtually and met with tremendous women from all over the GTA.

"Women are underrepresented in the tech world, but it’s up to us women to change that! We are creating a welcoming environment to show that there is a place in tech for every lady out there while building cool projects and sharing stories at ElleHacks."

As we hold Social Responsibility as one of our core values, we aim to support underrepresented groups and women with the opportunity to work and gain meaningful experience.

KPM's Custom Challenge for ElleHacks 2021: Improving renewable energy storage

Some battery chemistries when recycled become toxic, some batteries are dangerous and prone to catching on fire, while there are even some batteries that are not recyclable at all. How can we improve those things?

Winners - Power the Earth

Team members: Laiba Anwar, Marium Farooqi, Farwa Mubasher and Arwa Shamsaldin.

When we sat down with the team, they spoke on the importance of the small changes you make in your day-to-day and how you can feel fulfillment and satisfaction because you've contributed to that bigger change.
